Fish Hospitality Pantry South Knoxville
Come join us at the Fish Hospitality Pantry in South Knoxville twice each month as we meet our friends and neighbors, hear their stories, provide a meal, and lift up concerns in prayer (when requested). Since the spring of 2023, we have been humbled by the tenacity, strength, and courage of these neighbors and are honored to serve them and call them friends. New Hopewell Elementary School
As the song says, "We believe that children are our future." So, we partnered with New Hopewell Elementary School to provide 120 new backpacks , filled with school supplies, for students for the 2024-2025 school year. We also provided extra boxes of school supplies for the teachers to distribute as needed. In addition, we participate in providing provisions for the school's Blessing Box that helps students and their families with needed items.
Iglesia Luterana Agustina de Guatemala
Gloria Dei is humbled to provide support to the Southeastern Synod of the ELCA's companion synod, the Iglesia Luterana Agustina de Guatemala (ILAG), teaching us what it means to be Lutheran in our global church. Through receiving the ILAG pastoral team as guests at Gloria Dei, prayerful support, financial support, and living through the values of accompaniment, all of us have grown more deeply in our faith. Each year, our members write close to a hundred individual cards to the young women who attend MILAGRO, an ILAG ministry. Nature Garden
We care for creation and the environment. We have an organic butterfly garden in our courtyard that receives lots of beautiful visitors. As our property literally rests on top of a rock crest, our members nurture the grounds by adding soil, nutrients, and plant life. Our many trees help produce oxygen and provide shade for creatures big and small.
